Weâre Fundraise Up - a global fundraising platform built to make donating to nonprofits fast, seamless, and accessible to all. Every month, our technology powers tens of millions of dollars in donations across the globe. We focus on innovation that directly impacts results: faster load times, higher conversion rates, global payment support, and accessibility-first design.
Our platform is trusted by many of the worldâs leading nonprofits, including UNICEF, the Alzheimerâs Association, and a wide range of global NGOs. With a 4.9â5 rating across top software review platforms, weâre recognized not just for our impact - but for the quality of the product we deliver.
We operate in the enterprise segment, serving nonprofit organizations across North America, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Europe.
Weâre building a large and complex product ecosystem that serves nonprofits, donors, and partners around the world. The platform includes a modern checkout experience and customizable widgets(each a standalone SPA), donor, organization, and partner portals, admin tools, and several internal apps.
We are a distributed team of 160+ product professionals. Our team members are mainly based across Spain, Poland, Portugal, Georgia, Armenia, Serbia, Turkey, and Cyprus.
Despite our scale, we operate like a focused team - where every task matters and every voice is heard. We value thoughtful collaboration, strong engineering practices, and a product mindset.
Fundraise Up is building high-trust donation and fundraising experiences that help nonprofits grow their impact. We are looking for a UX Researcher to strengthen how UX research informs product decisions across the company.
You will focus on two areas: leading complex, ambiguous, high-impact UX research that informs product strategy, and building a scalable UX Research practice within the Design team. Designers will run simpler studies independently, while you provide the process, coaching, quality guardrails, and support that make research a consistent habit.
You will be the dedicated UX Research expert within the Research Team, working alongside Product and Marketing Researchers who will support you across your projects. You will bring deep UX Research expertise while collaborating closely with the wider Product, Design, and Analytics teams.
We expect every team member to actively use AI in their day-to-day work, identify where AI can change the shape of problems in their function, and grow their fluency as the tools evolve. You should already be using AI meaningfully in your work and understand where it adds value and how it can improve the way you operate.

About Upstart
At Upstart, weâre united by a mission that matters: to radically reduce the cost and complexity of borrowing for all Americans. Every day, we bring creativity, experimentation, and advanced AI to reshape access to credit, helping millions move forward financially with clarity and confidence.
As the leading AI lending marketplace, we partner with banks and credit unions to expand access to affordable credit through technology thatâs both radically intelligent and deeply human. Our platform runs over one million predictions per borrower using more than 3,000 signals, powering smarter, fairer decisions for millions of customers. But the numbers only hint at the impact. Every idea, every voice, and every contribution moves us closer to a world where credit never stands between people and their financial progress.
Weâre proudly digital-first, giving most Upstarters the flexibility to do their best work from wherever they thrive, alongside teammates across 80+ cities in the US and Canada. Digital-first doesnât mean distant. Weâre intentional about in-person connection through team onsites, planning sessions, and moments that spark creativity and trust. And whether you choose to work primarily from home or collaborate in-person from one of our offices in Columbus, Austin, the Bay Area, or New York City (opening Summer 2026), youâll have the support to work in the way that works best for you.
If youâre energized by tackling meaningful problems, excited to innovate with purpose, and motivated by work that truly matters, weâd love to hear from you.
Upstartâs Machine Learning Growth team develops models that help optimize borrower acquisition across marketing channels. The Direct Mail team focuses on causal machine learning models that predict incremental conversion and help prioritize prospects, and its scope is expanding beyond Personal Loans into Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC), email marketing, digital, and other marketing use cases.
As an Applied Scientist at Upstart, you will improve existing models and develop new approaches that expand the teamâs impact across marketing channels. You will work across business-oriented analysis, machine learning research, experimentation, and production-ready modeling, partnering primarily within Machine Learning and with Growth and Marketing Platform Engineering stakeholders.
