Project Management Program Lead, Enterprise Transformation (US) at Code and Theory

Leads a cross-functional program delivery team managing Adobe's enterprise generative AI adoption initiative, owning operating rhythm, client relationships, and program performance.

Lead Remote Posted about 17 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

At Code and Theory, we thrive at the intersection of creativity and technology. We empower brands by driving seamless execution, transformative solutions, and delivering exceptional client experiences. Through a culture of invention, our teams turn ideas into impact—creating innovative, memorable experiences for clients and their audiences.

Code and Theory is looking for a Program Delivery Lead to run the operating engine behind Project Ignite, our embedded-team partnership with Adobe that drives enterprise customer adoption of generative AI tools like Adobe Firefly and Adobe GenStudio.

The Program Lead owns the whole program rather than an individual client account. This role acts as the connective tissue across the whole Engagement Management team: as the primary point of contact for Adobe’s FDE leadership on program-level matters, as the owner of internal operating rhythm and team health, and as the person who represents the program to Code and Theory and Stagwell executive leadership.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Set the internal operating rhythm and drive the decisions behind it, leading a weekly full-team sync and a recurring senior-leadership huddle where staffing, performance, and hiring calls get made
  • Own the program’s voice with the client and with internal leadership, delivering recurring executive readouts in multiple formats, backed by a regular written update and continuous progress tracking
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the client’s program leadership on program-level matters, while individual Engagement Managers own their account relationships directly
  • Read and adapt to changes in the client’s own organization, adjusting the program’s engagement model in step with how the partner organization evolves
  • Run interference for the team, stepping in directly with the client when requests land unreasonably rather than passing pressure down to individual team members
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, and internal leadership to negotiate and close contract renewals, including headcount, fee structure, KPI-based adjustments, and delivery-model scope
  • Maintain working fluency in contract mechanics, including redlines, rate structures, and budget tracking, enough to catch issues early and drive documents to signature
  • Track program KPIs against target and proactively work with the team to course-correct the moment forecasts show signs of drifting off track
  • Partner closely with the recruiting team to shape hiring strategy, screening criteria, and final hiring decisions for the engagement team, leading through influence and credibility rather than a formal reporting relationship
  • Act as the primary point of resolution when client leadership raises a performance concern about a team member, balancing the client relationship with fair, considered outcomes for your people
  • Own the onboarding curriculum and keep it current as the team and tools evolve, and monitor team capacity and workload proactively
  • Maintain the program’s core artifacts and a growing library of reusable playbooks and tools, treating documentation and process as a deliverable in their own right

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Background in program/client delivery management, ideally within a staff-augmentation, matrix organization, consulting, or professional-services model
  • Comfort owning a portfolio of engagements without running any single one directly
  • Demonstrated executive stakeholder management: experience running recurring readouts or steerco-style meetings with senior client-side executives (VP/Director+) and briefing internal C-suite leadership
  • Strong, tone-adaptive communication and comfort moving between Engagement Managers, client-side leadership, and internal executives
  • Informal leadership that builds cohesion, and the ability to rally a team around shared goals and a common bar for quality, using trust and communication rather than positional authority
  • A builder’s instinct for process and documentation, comfortable creating and maintaining trackers, onboarding curricula, and playbooks rather than just executing against someone else’s
  • Ability to synthesize cross-functional information into clear, AI-augmented systems
  • Ability to partner with Legal, Finance, and leadership to negotiate and close SOWs, plan and account for headcount, KPI-based fee adjustments, and delivery-model splits, and track budget burn against the SOW to flag variances early
  • Ownership of program KPIs against target, with a track record of proactively working with a team to course-correct when forecasts show signs of drifting off track
  • High tolerance for ambiguity and comfort navigating a partner organization that changes its own structure with little notice

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience scaling a distributed team
  • A keen eye for identifying expansion opportunities across an account portfolio, spotting where a program can grow and translating that into a clear business case for leadership and the client
  • Familiarity with generative AI tools in a creative or marketing context
  • Background in agency operations, martech, or enterprise software adoption programs
  • Experience partnering with a recruiting or talent team on a live, time-sensitive hiring pipeline

Project Management Incident Operations Lead (EMEA/AMER) at Alpaca

Leads incident response operations across global teams, establishing severity models, escalation procedures, 24x7 coverage, and cross-functional coordination for critical incidents.

Lead Remote Posted about 17 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Who We Are:

Alpaca is a US-headquartered, global leader in agent-first brokerage infrastructure for stocks, ETFs, options, crypto, fixed income, 24⁄5 trading, and more.

Amongst our subsidiaries, Alpaca is a licensed financial services company, serving hundreds of financial institutions across 40 countries with our institutional-grade APIs. We’re deeply committed to open-source contributions and fostering a vibrant community, continuously enhancing our award-winning, developer-friendly API and the robust infrastructure behind it.

Alpaca is proudly backed by $400 million in funding from top-tier global investors including Portage Ventures, Spark Capital, Tribe Capital, Social Leverage, Horizons Ventures, Opera Tech Ventures, SBI Group, Derayah Financial, Unbound, Peak XV, Elefund, and Y Combinator.

Our Team Members:

We’re a dynamic team of 400+ globally distributed members who thrive working from our favorite places around the world, with teammates spanning the USA, Canada, Japan, Hungary, Nigeria, Brazil, the UK, and beyond!

We’re searching for passionate individuals eager to contribute to Alpaca’s rapid growth. If you align with our core values—Stay Curious, Have Empathy, and Be Accountable—and are ready to make a significant impact, we encourage you to apply.

Role

Lead the team that commands Alpaca’s most critical incidents. You will build the function and then keep raising its bar: the severity model, the escalation and communication paths, 24x7 follow-the-sun coverage, and the KPIs that prove it is improving. You will do that across boundaries - with the engineering teams who own the services, with SRE on reliability standards and on-call readiness, with Risk on financial and regulatory materiality, with our partner communications teams on what reaches a customer, and with reliability programme management on what happens after.

You will own how well we respond. Not the fix, not the partner communication, and not the reliability standard. Holding that line is a deliberate part of the design and a core part of the job.

Things You Get To Do

  • Build the team and stand up 24x7 command. Recruit and certify Incident Commanders, build a follow-the-sun rotation across APAC, EMEA and AMER with warm handoffs at every regional boundary, and carry a rostered slot yourself. Keep the team sharp between real incidents with game days, tabletop exercises and simulations, and coach them through the live ones. Build a blameless review culture that treats an outlier as a process gap rather than a person’s failure.
  • Own the process, and keep raising it. Drive severity maturity with Risk on financial and regulatory materiality - in a regulated brokerage a severity call can also start a reporting clock, so the model has to map cleanly onto those thresholds. Own the escalation path and what happens when a page goes unanswered, agree the thresholds for taking an incident to engineering leadership, and keep the service catalogue and its ownership current - time spent working out who owns a failing service is customer impact.
  • Own both bridges. Your team connects the engineers and technical support fixing the problem, who need uninterrupted focus, to the partner communications teams, who need a continuous and accurate feed. You open the channel, supply the facts and hold the update cadence to account. Afterwards, your team runs the retrospective with SRE - who own the technical depth - and builds the post-incident package while the room is still warm, every item ticketed, owned and tagged, delivered inside a service level you define and then hold, before reliability programme management drives it to closure. You then synthesise the discussion into short, digestible learnings and publish them to the whole engineering organisation, so one team’s failure becomes everyone’s lesson instead of a document three people read.
  • Own the KPIs. Time to respond and time to mitigate end to end, including the definitions and data hygiene beneath them: what separates mitigated from resolved, and whether a timestamp means what it claims. Establish a defensible baseline before committing to targets, then move them by severity. Review and approval, not authorship, is where postmortems stall, so report overdue reviews by team and incident with a next action against each.
  • Build it as a product, then automate it with AI. Everything is documented, versioned and deployable, so you can stand up command from the artefacts alone; the process needs to scale considerably faster than the team. The automation we are after is AI workflows and agents rather than scripts and dashboards - agents that set an incident up, assemble the timeline as it runs, draft the RCA and the action package, and chase the update that is due or the review that is overdue. You own that roadmap: what an agent may do unsupervised, what still needs a commander’s judgement, and the decision-tree quality that makes either of them safe.

Who You Are (Must-Haves)

  • You have stood up an incident command or major-incident function, not only worked inside one - you have owned the severity model, built the roster and driven adoption across teams.
  • 5+ years in production engineering, SRE or technical operations, including hands-on command of high-severity incidents.
  • You have led a distributed team across time zones and run a 24x7 rotation.
  • You get engineers you do not manage to do things, and you can defend a severity call to someone who disagrees with it.
  • You have built reliability metrics people trust, and you know the difference between improving a number and improving reality.
  • You are disciplined about scope. You can say “that is not ours” and route it, in the middle of an outage, without leaving a gap.
  • You write well enough that your process documents actually get used, you can hold a bridge calm under pressure, and you can brief an executive mid-incident without either downplaying it or dramatising it.
  • You understand FinTech and the trust stakes of API-driven financial platforms.
  • You use AI and agentic automation to remove toil rather than to add tooling.

Who You Might Be (Nice-to-Haves)

  • Formal incident command training - ITIL, Major Incident Management or crisis management.
  • You have run a certification, game day or drill programme, or built a pool of certified responders beyond your own headcount.
  • Experience with modern incident management and on-call platforms.
  • You have built a service catalogue or ownership registry that people actually maintained.
  • You have worked with programme management or reliability functions to convert incident follow-ups into funded roadmap work.
  • Familiarity with incident reporting obligations in regulated financial services - DORA, Reg SCI, FINRA or equivalent.
  • Online securities trading or capital markets experience, or another regulated, market-hours-sensitive domain.
  • You have deployed the same operating model into a second region or entity.

How We Take Care of You:

  • Competitive Salary & Stock Options
  • Health Benefits
  • New Hire Home-Office Setup: One-time USD $500
  • Monthly Stipend: USD $150 per month via a Brex Card

Alpaca is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace dedicated to pursuing and hiring a diverse workforce.

Project Management Engineering Manager, SRE at Remote

Lead an SRE team of engineers, manage career development and performance, guide technical direction on Kubernetes/AWS infrastructure, and balance operational reliability with project delivery.

What this role involves

About Remote

Remote is solving modern organizations’ biggest challenge – navigating global employment compliantly with ease. We make it possible for businesses of all sizes to recruit, pay, and manage international teams. With our core values at heart and future focused work culture, our team works tirelessly on ambitious problems, asynchronously, around the world. You can find Remoters working from 6 different continents (Antarctica left to go!) and all of our positions are fully remote.

With Innovation as one of the core values, we have built Automation and AI capabilities into the requirements for every role.

We encourage every member of the Remote team to bring their talents, experiences and culture to the table to help us build the best-in-class HR platform.

If you are energetic, curious, motivated and ambitious, be part of our world. Apply now and define the future of work!

What this job can offer you

Remote’s SRE team exists so that our engineers can move quickly and our customers get a product that stays up. The team owns Kubernetes, AWS, PostgreSQL, CI infrastructure, our observability stack and the reliability practices that sits on top of all of it.

We are looking for a Team Leader to run that team. This is a 60% IC, 40% leadership role. You will own the career development of your reports, steer the teams focus using judgment against the company goals, and you will be the spokesperson for the team across engineering. You will also stay close enough to the technical work to set direction with credibility and to know when something is going wrong before it is escalated to you.

Reliability practice at Remote is maturing rather than mature. Our SLO framework is live on its first few teams and needs to reach the rest, there is real work to do on how we balance operational load against project delivery. If you want a team where the foundations are in place and the interesting problems are still open, this is that team.

What you bring

People leadership

  • You have led an SRE, infrastructure or platform engineering team, and you have owned your reports’ growth, performance and career progression rather than just their sprints.
  • You coach both craft and the soft skills, you can point to people who grew because of it.
  • You handle underperformance directly and early, with clarity and empathy.
  • You have hired engineers, and you can tell the difference between a good interview and a good engineer.
  • You read team dynamics well and you resolve conflict rather than routing around it.
  • You have a natural talent fostering commitment to the goals of the company.

Technical depth

  • A hands-on background in site reliability, DevOps or cloud infrastructure engineering, deep enough that you can review your team’s work, challenge a design and be taken seriously in an incident.
  • Kubernetes in production, including the operational reality of it rather than the happy path.
  • AWS at meaningful scale.
  • Hands on AI building, enablement, scaling AI infrastructure.
  • Solid o11y practices and principles,
  • Infrastructure as code with Terraform.
  • CI/CD systems such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
  • Docker and shell scripting.
  • You have run a reliability practice: incident response, on-call, SLOs and error budgets, and the discipline of turning incidents into changes that stick.
  • Understanding and history of working in regulated environments.

Ways of working

  • You prioritise exceptionally well when operational load and project work compete, and you protect your team’s focus without dropping the operational commitment.
  • You write clearly. Remote is fully distributed and async, so most of your leadership will happen in writing.
  • You build relationships across teams. A lot of SRE’s value comes from being the team others bring problems to early.

Nice to have

  • Working knowledge of a backend language, ideally Elixir, or otherwise Java, Clojure, Node.js, Python or similar.
  • Depth in modern observability: OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, and tools such as Honeycomb.
  • Database operations experience, particularly PostgreSQL or Aurora performance, connection pool health and query tuning.
  • Running and configuring Linux systems outside a cloud environment.
  • Security capability from both a defensive and an offensive standpoint.
  • Cloud cost management and FinOps.
  • Experience growing a team from a small base, including building the hiring bar as you go.

Key Responsibilities

Your people

  • The full career lifecycle of your reports: onboarding, feedback, performance assessment, progression and hiring.
  • Team health, dynamics and the retrospective habit that keeps them honest.
  • Being the team’s spokesperson to the rest of engineering and to senior leadership.

Delivery

  • The SRE goals: what the team commits to, in what order, and why.
  • The support rotation and on-call model.

The platform

  • Remote’s core infrastructure: Kubernetes, AWS, PostgreSQL, DNS and TLS, CI infrastructure.
  • The reliability practice: SLOs, error budgets, incident response and the observability stack.
  • The partnership with our Security team on threats, patching and infrastructure controls, including our audit and compliance obligations.
  • The vendor relationships that sit behind the platform, including renewals and commercial conversations with support from your Director.

Practicals

  • You will report to: Director of Engineering, Platform
  • Team: Site Reliability Engineering, part of Platform Engineering
  • Direct reports: 4
  • Location: Anywhere in the world. Our current coverage is strongest in EMEA and APAC, so candidates who overlap with either, or who can help us close the Americas gap, are especially welcome.
  • Start date: As soon as possible

Application process

  1. Interview with recruiter
  2. Interview with hiring manager
  3. Scenario interview with a peer team leader
  4. Executive interview
  5. Bar Raiser interview
  6. Offer + Prior employment verification check

Project Management Engineering Manager, EMEA (Platform) at Testlio

Engineering Manager leads the platform team owning all external integrations, APIs, and identity/access systems that connect clients and partners to Testlio's testing platform.

Lead Remote Posted 3 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Location: This is a 100% remote role and is open to candidates residing in the United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal, Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, and Estonia. Visa sponsorship is not available.

About the job

Testlio’s fully managed crowdsourced testing platform integrates expert, on-demand testers directly into your release process. Ship faster and more confidently with global coverage across 600,000+ devices, 800+ payment methods, 150+ countries, and 100+ languages. To learn more, visit www.testlio.com.

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the team that owns every way the outside world connects to Testlio: our partner integrations, our public API, our identity and access surfaces. If a client’s Jira, a client’s CI pipeline, a client’s engineer, or a client’s AI agent touches Testlio, it goes through your team’s systems. This role reports to the Director, Engineering.

Why will you love this job?

  • Own the platform’s contract with the world. You’ll lead the one team that covers the whole programmatic perimeter: bi-directional sync with a dozen tools (Jira, Xray, Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab, Asana, Linear, Monday, TestRail, Trello, YouTrack, Slack), enterprise SSO, our public API.
  • Build the API as a product, not a byproduct. We have a written public-API strategy: OpenAPI contracts as the source of truth, major and dated versioning, uniform auth, granular API roles, rate limiting, end-to-end request tracing.
  • Make support self-serve. You’ll cut recurring support work at the source, with self-serve setup and diagnostics, integration health visible to the people who need it, and automation and permanent fixes instead of repeat manual triage.
  • Partner with product and with real customers. You’ll work closely with a dedicated product manager on discovery, prioritization, and outcomes, and also directly with enterprise client engineering teams who build against our API.

Why will you love being a part of Testlio?

  • Great Culture: Testlio is a female-founded company, and half of our team identifies as women. We’re proud of our inclusive, purpose-driven culture where people genuinely enjoy collaborating. As part of our team (we call ourselves TestLions), you’ll help create exceptional digital experiences for our customers, while also contributing to our freelance network.
  • Remote Work: Our culture is built around remote work. We’ve created systems to allow us to successfully work together asynchronously as a fully remote and globally distributed team. Testlio provides the tools and guidance for everyone to succeed in their careers in a fully remote setting. Our working style encourages everyone to make decisions, communicate effectively, and work at a sustainable pace.
  • Investment in You: Your growth and well-being matter to us. You’ll have flexible paid time off—including national holidays, personal days, and sick days—plus stock options so you can grow with Testlio. We also provide a $300 annual learning stipend to support your personal and professional development.
  • Winning Business: Testlio is growing, profitable, and cash-strong. We are leading our industry with exceptional clients who provide us with a high NPS score and a 4.7 rating on G2. Our business model is global, enterprise, and subscription-based. Several of our largest clients have been with us for 7+ years, and many spend $500K+/year with Testlio.

What would your day look like?

Shaping what’s next

  • Stay close to the code: Expect to spend roughly 20–30% of your time on hands-on engineering, including writing production code, providing substantive reviews on critical-path pull requests, and signing off on key technical designs. You’ll help remove critical technical bottlenecks and contribute directly when needed, while empowering the team to own and deliver work independently.
  • Public API strategy: Own Testlio’s public API end to end: OpenAPI specifications kept current in every service repo and treated as the consumer contract, a coherent versioning and deprecation policy, consistent authentication and authorization on every endpoint, rate limiting, and traceability across the request path.
  • Integration architecture: Set the multi-quarter technical direction for a sync platform that must stay correct across a dozen third-party APIs, each with its own data model, rate limits, and release cadence. Reduce per-vendor special-casing in favour of a common mapping and sync core.
  • Roadmap ownership: Turn strategy into a sequenced roadmap with your product partner, and own technical delivery from concept to production.

Running it with rigor

  • Engineering operating rhythm: Establish effective planning, prioritization, and design review practices that balance delivery speed with long-term scalability.
  • Technical leadership: Combine engineering vision and team mentorship with hands-on technical contribution, staying close to the codebase to understand the team’s work and make informed technical decisions.
  • Third-party dependency management: Own the risk that comes with depending on other people’s APIs. Track vendor changelogs, deprecations and sunset dates, plan migrations before they become incidents, and keep credential, token, and connection failures from turning into client-visible outages.
  • Production support and escalations: Own production support for your domains, including triage, escalation management, and root-cause resolution. Drive automation, self-serve setup, and permanent fixes that measurably reduce recurring support volume and improve operational efficiency.
  • Reliability and observability: Define service level objectives for sync freshness, sync success rate, and API availability and latency; build the dashboards that make integration health self-serve; and lead root-cause analysis on production issues.Engineering standards: Ensure work is traceable and the Definition of Done is consistently met, minimizing escaped defects and keeping cloud costs in check.
  • Team growth: Coach engineers technically, bring AI-assisted development workflows (e.g., Claude Code) into daily practice, and reduce knowledge silos through reviews and documentation.

What do you need to succeed?

Technical skills

  • Engineering management: 5+ years managing a team of 4+ engineers in an agile, remote environment.
  • Hands-on technical leadership: Recent experience writing production code and designing or evolving production systems. You are comfortable working directly in the codebase, contributing to implementation, reviewing code, and making architectural decisions alongside your team.
  • Public or partner-facing API ownership: Proven experience designing, versioning, documenting, and deprecating APIs consumed by people outside your own company. You’ve made a breaking-change decision and lived with the consequences. OpenAPI, idempotency, pagination, webhooks, and rate limiting are familiar ground.
  • Third-party integration systems: Experience building or running integrations against external APIs at scale: OAuth flows, credential storage and rotation, retries and backoff, queue and poison-message handling, conflict resolution in bi-directional sync, and per-tenant blast-radius control.
  • Technical stack: Strong affinity with TypeScript and Node.js on AWS, including serverless (Lambda), DynamoDB, and event-driven patterns.

Nice-to-haves

  • Identity and access: Practical knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, and enterprise SSO, plus token scoping and least-privilege API roles.
  • Broader stack familiarity: Kafka, GraphQL, Python, and React are a plus.
  • Observability and performance: Experience with observability and APM tools (e.g., New Relic, Datadog, Sentry) and optimizing slow database transactions.
  • Application security: Knowledge of application security best practices and integrating security review into the SDLC.
  • Legacy modernization: Experience modernizing legacy systems or paying down significant technical debt while keeping a product running.
  • SaaS experience: Prior experience managing a SaaS product is a plus.

Human skills

  • Fluency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Collaborative. Works effectively with product management and cross-functional partners in a distributed, asynchronous setting.

Project Management Engineering Manager, EMEA (Platform) at Testlio

Leads an engineering team responsible for platform integrations, public API, and identity systems that enable external clients and tools to connect with Testlio.

Project Management Server Engineering Manager, Member Experience at Raya

Manages a server engineering team building payment and member lifecycle systems, mentors engineers, and drives technical execution across architecture and product delivery.

Lead Posted 5 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

In a world where many social apps measure their success by time spent online, Raya is a technology company focused on providing utility. Our iOS only app is a tool for discovery of and access to exciting people, events, opportunities, and recommendations globally. We believe that by marrying great software with a membership based community built around core values of trust, creativity, and reciprocity, we can provide solutions that have heretofore been impossible.

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Member Experience server team. Member Experience owns the full member lifecycle - from a prospective member’s first application through onboarding, payments, and renewal month after month. That surface spans application and acceptance, authentication and login, onboarding, subscriptions and in-app purchases including Raya+, reactivation and referrals, and member communications. These are net-new payment systems built for scale rather than legacy systems in maintenance, with high ownership and direct revenue impact.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience managing software development teams, with deep knowledge of Node.js and TypeScript, and should be familiar with cloud architectures, services, deployment models, and distributed systems. We value strong project management skills and the ability to deliver on commitments. In this role, you will work closely with leadership, product managers, designers, and data team stakeholders to deliver business impact.

We offer comprehensive medical and dental coverage, $50 a day food delivery budget, equity based employment, a great culture, learning opportunities, unlimited vacation, 12 weeks paid parental leave, and we pay all employees $1,000 a year to go somewhere in the world that they’ve never been because of our values of human connection, empathy, and curiosity.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor, and grow a team of server engineers, including hiring, onboarding, and career development, while fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
  • Contribute to the codebase and provide technical leadership across architecture, system design, and key engineering decisions.
  • Partner with product, design, and data to define, scope, and deliver high-impact features, owning execution from concept through launch.
  • Oversee the development and continuous enhancement of scalable, secure, and efficient services in a cloud environment, and uphold a high bar for engineering quality - code standards, testing practices, operational readiness, and long-term maintainability.
  • Operate as a player/coach with an expected ~50% hands-on engineering contribution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar field, or equivalent industry experience.

  • 2+ years of experience managing high-performing engineering teams.

  • Deep knowledge of Node.js and TypeScript, with familiarity across cloud architecture, services, deployment models, and distributed systems. Our stack includes MongoDB and PostgreSQL.

  • Production experience with Apple StoreKit payments and subscriptions, and production experience with Stripe payments and subscriptions for a B2C product.

  • Experience serving within and administering an operational excellence program: production readiness, observability, on call.

  • Proven ability to lead projects from concept through launch, balancing speed and quality, and to collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners to deliver business impact.

  • Experience sourcing, screening, hiring, mentoring, and developing engineers, with strong communication and leadership skills.

  • An AI-forward mindset, with curiosity about applying emerging technologies to improve developer and product experiences.

We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans. Project Management Engineering Manager at PayJunction

Engineering Manager leads a software engineering team, owns technical vision and roadmap, runs Scrum ceremonies, and ships production Java code while ensuring quality and delivery predictability.

Lead Hybrid Posted 5 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

We read every application. No AI screening. A real person reviews your materials.

Job Summary

PayJunction is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team of software engineers from inside the code, still shipping production Java yourself, while setting technical direction, raising the quality bar, and making delivery predictable on a platform where a defect is a financial event.

Why PayJunction?

PayJunction is relentless and emphatic about helping others.  We exist to drive the success of our partners.  Specifically, the developers who connect to us, businesses who process payments through us, and all of our team members who work with us at PayJunction.

We believe dreams inspire people to start a business, and others to partner with them.  While building dreams, entrepreneurs and business professionals will face many challenges along the way. We believe great partners can make all the difference.

We are your dream partner.

Your success is our success.

Our dream is to help you realize yours.

We exist to drive the success of our partners.  We do this by fundamentally changing the way you transact with others.  We just happen to make great payment systems.  If you love helping others succeed, in a culture that celebrates perfecting your craft, consider partnering with us.

Location

PayJunction takes a Flex First approach to work environments. This means that our team members can choose to work from our Santa Barbara office or remotely from home. We ensure that everyone has the resources and equipment to work where they feel most productive. We trust our teams to make the best decision for their work environment. All PayJunction employees must reside in one of the following states: CA, IL, TX, MN, CO, GA, NY, MA, CT.

Mission

Our Engineering team’s mission is to design, develop, and maintain the products, technology, and systems that drive our partners’ success.

Vision

Thousands of partners love and rely on our platform to make payments simple.

Job Responsibilities

  • Own the team’s technical vision and roadmap, lead design reviews for major initiatives, and identify and mitigate the key technical risks in a payments platform.
  • Run the team’s Scrum ceremonies as the accountable leader, from planning and grooming through pointing and retros, protecting sprint scope from interrupt load so the team finishes what it commits to.
  • Partner with Product to scope, phase, and size initiatives before commitments are made, and negotiate scope when a request exceeds capacity rather than absorbing the overflow.
  • Set and enforce the definition of done for tests, review, and documentation, and personally perform substantive code reviews that hold junior and senior engineers to the same bar.
  • Use code review and 1:1s as teaching surfaces, build and work a development plan with every engineer, and grow people toward their next level.
  • Own the employee lifecycle for your team, from hiring and onboarding through reviews and coaching underperformers early, while building psychological safety without lowering the bar.
  • Stay in the code: ship production Java each sprint, author design docs for major initiatives, and review front-end changes in HTML, JavaScript, and Angular competently.
  • Own your team’s services in production, including monitoring, alerting, deployments, and incident response, and bake PCI DSS and security requirements into designs early rather than retrofitting them.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with hands-on ownership of production systems.
  • 3+ years at Senior Engineer level or above; you spent at least half of your most recent management role hands-on in the code and can still operate at that level.
  • 3+ years of engineering management, directly managing a team of 4 or more engineers, including hiring and performance reviews.
  • 5+ years of Java experience including web frameworks, with production Java written within the last 12 months.
  • 2+ years running Scrum ceremonies as Scrum Master or the accountable equivalent, not just participating in them.
  • Preferred: production Linux experience, ideally Ubuntu; payments or B2B SaaS industry experience; experience in a PCI DSS or comparably regulated engineering environment; a BS in Computer Science, or a sustained record of senior-level engineering work in its place.

About PayJunction

Founded in 2000 by three UCSB graduates, PayJunction has grown from a bootstrapped startup to a recognized and respected leader in the payments industry. PayJunction processes more than $12 billion dollars annually for thousands of businesses with solutions that make it easy to accept credit and debit card payments in-store, online, and on-the-go.

Our people-first culture values long-term relationships over short-term profits. Honesty and integrity are part of every interaction with partners, customers and employees. We foster a collaborative work environment, where creative ideas are welcomed, teams are inspired, and success is celebrated. Project Management Server Engineering Manager, Member Experience at Raya

Manages a server engineering team building payment and member lifecycle systems, mentors engineers, and partners with product and design to deliver scalable features.

Lead Posted 6 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product

  • Experience sourcing, screening, hiring, mentoring, and developing engineers, with strong communication and leadership skills.

Project Management Manager, Strategic Customer Onboarding at Tipalti

Lead a team of onboarding managers overseeing complex customer implementations, managing delivery portfolio performance, capacity planning, and cross-functional stakeholder coordination.

Lead Posted 7 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

As the Manager, Strategic Onboarding, you will lead a team responsible for Tipalti’s most complex and strategically important customer implementations, including both internally delivered and partner-led engagements. You will be accountable for the performance, development, and success of your team and the overall health of the delivery portfolio, ensuring projects are appropriately staffed, risks are identified and addressed early, and customers receive a consistently high-quality onboarding experience.

You will own portfolio-level delivery performance, capacity and resource management, operational cadence, and first-line escalation management for your team. You will coach and develop experienced Onboarding Managers, establish repeatable and scalable delivery practices, and partner cross-functionally to remove systemic barriers to successful implementation.

This is a people and portfolio leadership role, not an individual implementation role. Success is measured by the performance of the team and portfolio—not by personally carrying customer implementations.

Why join Tipalti?

Tipalti is the AI-powered platform for finance automation, elevating how finance teams operate in the global economy. We empower our customers to scale faster and smarter by removing the complexities of doing global business and accelerating their finance operations efficiency. Our platform provides a comprehensive suite of finance automation solutions designed for mid-market businesses across accounts payable, global payouts, procurement, employee expenses, corporate cards, supplier management, tax compliance, and treasury. Tipalti partners with leading financial institutions such as Citi, Wells Fargo, J.P. Morgan, and Visa, enabling over 5,000 global companies to efficiently and securely pay millions of suppliers and payees across 200+ countries and territories, in 120 currencies.

At Tipalti, we pride ourselves on our collaborative culture, the quality of our product and the capabilities of our people. Tipaltians are passionate about the work they do, and keen to get the job done. Tipalti oïŹ€ers competitive benefits, a flexible workplace, career coaching, and an environment where diverse individuals can thrive and make an impact. Our culture ensures everyone checks their egos at the door and stands ready to reach for success together.

Founded in Israel in 2010, Tipalti is a global business headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area (Foster City) with offices in Tel Aviv, Plano, Toronto, Vancouver, London, Amsterdam, Tbilisi and Medellin.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of experienced Onboarding Managers responsible for complex and strategically important customer implementations.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, provide regular coaching and feedback, and create development opportunities that strengthen the team’s delivery and leadership capabilities.
  • Build a culture of ownership and accountability in which Onboarding Managers independently lead their portfolios and escalate intentionally rather than relying on management to run projects for them.
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop new team members as the organization grows.
  • Own performance management, goal setting, and development planning for the team.
  • Own the overall health and performance of the Strategic Onboarding portfolio, including project health, delivery risk, time-to-value, customer experience, capacity, and forecast accuracy.
  • Establish and lead a consistent portfolio operating cadence that surfaces risks early, drives clear ownership of actions, and enables proactive intervention before issues become escalations.
  • Own staffing and capacity management across the team, balancing customer needs, project complexity, team capabilities, and business priorities.
  • Serve as the first level of management escalation for at-risk implementations, providing leadership and executive customer engagement when appropriate while maintaining clear ownership with the assigned Onboarding Manager.
  • Provide leadership oversight for Tipalti’s most complex and strategically important implementations, ensuring teams have the resources, cross-functional support, and decision-making required for successful delivery.
  • Identify patterns across projects and escalations and translate them into systemic improvements rather than repeatedly solving the same issues customer by customer.
  • Maintain accurate portfolio visibility and forecasting, using data to identify emerging risks, capacity constraints, and opportunities to improve delivery performance.
  • Provide operational oversight of strategic partner-led implementations within the broader Strategic Onboarding portfolio, ensuring appropriate visibility, governance, escalation management, and consistent delivery standards across both Tipalti-led and partner-led engagements.
  • Identify and implement improvements to delivery processes, tools, and operating practices that increase consistency, scalability, and customer outcomes.
  • Use portfolio data and frontline insights to identify systemic delivery issues and drive improvements across the organization.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Support, Sales, Professional Services, Alliances, and other cross-functional teams to resolve recurring delivery barriers and represent the needs of Strategic Onboarding.
  • Ensure lessons learned, delivery patterns, and successful practices are captured and reused across the team rather than remaining with individual team members.
  • Share structured product and process feedback with appropriate stakeholders to improve the customer onboarding experience.
  • Establish clear ownership and escalation paths for cross-functional dependencies that impact customer delivery.
  • Champion adoption of AI-enabled delivery workflows across Strategic Onboarding, partnering with the AI Strategy function to identify high-value opportunities, drive frontline adoption, and measure operational impact.
  • Help evolve team roles and operating practices as AI removes administrative work, enabling Onboarding Managers to spend more time on strategic customer engagement and higher-value delivery activities.
  • Provide frontline feedback and operational insights to help ensure AI capabilities address real delivery challenges and create measurable value.
  • Reinforce new AI-enabled ways of working through coaching, operating cadence, and performance expectations.

  • Strong people leader with a track record of coaching experienced professionals, managing performance, and developing future leaders.
  • Strong executive presence and demonstrated ability to lead difficult customer conversations and high-stakes escalations.

  • Strong analytical skills and comfort using data to understand portfolio health, capacity, performance, and emerging risks.

  • Detail-oriented and well organized, with the ability to maintain strategic perspective while managing a complex delivery portfolio.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • BA/BS in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience leading complex fintech, payments, ERP, or financial-technology implementations.
  • Experience working with implementation partners or systems integrators is a plus.
  • Experience leading teams through AI, automation, or significant delivery-process transformation.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, project-management platforms, and ticketing systems such as Jira.
  • Experience operating in a high-growth SaaS environment.
  • Experience partnering closely with Product and Engineering organizations to resolve systemic customer-delivery challenges.

Project Management Software Engineering Manager, Data at Kard

Leads a 12-person multidisciplinary data team, sets technical direction for data platforms, and oversees data engineering, analytics, ML, and support functions across the organization.

Lead Posted 7 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Kard is building commerce media infrastructure that connects financial institutions, financial-services platforms, and merchants through data and merchant-funded rewards. As our reach expands, we are building for a step-change in scale, and for opportunities ranging from more relevant rewards and marketer intelligence to new commerce and distribution models.

About the Role

As Software Engineering Manager, Data, you will lead a 12-person multidisciplinary team spanning data engineering, analytics engineering, data science, machine learning engineering, and data support. Together, these functions own the systems and workflows that move, model, analyze, and operationalize Kard’s data, while supporting both customer-facing product development and the day-to-day needs of our go-to-market teams.

Reporting to the Director of Data & Platform, you will have significant autonomy to shape the team, set technical direction, and determine how we invest across platform development, product integration, automation, and stakeholder support. This is a technical management role: you will not necessarily write production code every day, but you should be able to evaluate architecture, review code and technical designs, guide implementation decisions, and contribute directly when useful.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary team across data engineering, analytics engineering, data science, machine learning engineering, and data support.
  • Set the technical direction for Kard’s data platform, improving its scalability, reliability, maintainability, and usefulness across the organization.
  • Increase automation and self-service while reducing manual workflows, recurring operational work, and unnecessary touch points across the Data team.
  • Partner with Engineering and Product to integrate data, analytics, and machine learning capabilities into Kard’s products and production systems.
  • Ensure Kard’s go-to-market teams have timely access to accurate, actionable data, while turning recurring requests into durable and scalable capabilities.
  • Establish clear priorities, ownership, and delivery practices across a portfolio that includes platform investments, product work, analytical needs, and operational support.
  • Guide architectural decisions and technical tradeoffs across data pipelines, analytics systems, production models, internal tooling, and data services.
  • Build a healthy, accountable team through clear expectations, direct feedback, career development, thoughtful hiring, and strong collaboration across disciplines.

Desired Skills

  • Experience managing a technical team working across data engineering, analytics, data science, machine learning, or related software engineering disciplines.
  • The technical depth to assess system designs, review code and implementation approaches, and provide credible guidance to experienced engineers and data practitioners.
  • Working fluency across modern data platforms, data modeling, pipelines and orchestration, analytics systems, machine learning lifecycles, cloud infrastructure, and production software practices.
  • A record of improving technical platforms, automating manual processes, and creating systems that scale with the needs of the business.
  • Experience managing a team with a mix of foundational platform work, product development, stakeholder-driven requests, and operational responsibilities.
  • Strong judgment about when to build reusable capabilities, when to solve an immediate business need, and how to make those tradeoffs clear to stakeholders.
  • The ability to partner effectively with both Engineering and go-to-market teams, translating different needs and constraints into coherent priorities.
  • Experience setting expectations, managing performance, supporting career growth, and developing senior technical individual contributors.
  • The communication and organizational skills to operate with a high degree of autonomy while maintaining alignment with company and engineering leadership.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive work environment and actively contributing to team growth and cohesion.
  • U.S. core business hours availability and willingness to travel for company meetings.

Bonus Points

  • Experience working with fintech, payments, card-linked offers, loyalty, or other transaction-intensive products.
  • Experience operating production machine learning systems or integrating models and decisioning capabilities into customer-facing products.
  • Experience with high-volume batch and real-time data systems.
  • Familiarity with technologies such as Databricks, dbt, AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform.

Remote - USA Pay Range

$180,000—$220,000 USD

Why Join:

Kard recognizes the unique value each of us brings to our collective success. As part of our remote-first team, you’ll have the autonomy to influence our trajectory, actively contributing to the growth of our business and the evolution of our company culture. By embodying our core values of Initiative, Openness, and Humility, you will not only witness but directly foster an inclusive and dynamic work environment, from the executive level down.

  • Health, Dental and Vision Insurance
  • 401k with employer match (US employees only)
  • Coworking space and WFH setup reimbursement

Project Management Manager, Strategic Customer Onboarding at Tipalti

Lead a team managing complex customer onboarding implementations, overseeing portfolio performance, resource allocation, and delivery quality across strategic engagements.

About you

  • Experience operating in a high-growth SaaS environment.
  • Experience partnering closely with Product and Engineering organizations to resolve systemic customer-delivery challenges.
