Develops positioning, messaging, and technical content for developer-facing API products while partnering with product and engineering teams on launches and go-to-market strategy.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Developer Content & Product Marketing Specialist to own how developers discover, understand, and fall in love with our API. This is a hands-on, high-craft role for someone who’s spent real time writing code, thinks like a developer, and has genuinely strong opinions about docs, DX, and content. You’ll translate deep technical capability into positioning, messaging, and content that resonates with a sceptical, detail-oriented developer audience, and you’ll do it with excellent writing and a sharp eye for UX.
This role sits at the intersection of product, engineering, and marketing. You’ll work closely with product managers and engineers to understand what we’re building, and with the broader marketing team to turn that understanding into positioning, launches, and content that developers actually want to read.
What You’ll Do
Own positioning and messaging for our API products, grounded in a real understanding of the technical capabilities and how developers evaluate them.
Plan and execute product launches and feature announcements, from technical narrative to go-to-market assets.
Write high-quality, developer-facing content: landing pages, launch posts, comparison pages, email sequences, in-product copy, and sales enablement materials.
Partner with product and engineering to develop deep product knowledge — you should be comfortable reading docs, testing the API yourself, and asking sharp technical questions.
Collaborate with the docs/DX team to improve the developer journey: onboarding flows, quickstarts, and the overall experience of evaluating and adopting the API.
Conduct win/loss analysis, customer interviews, and competitive research to sharpen messaging and inform roadmap conversations.
Define and track the metrics that matter for product marketing: activation, adoption, and content performance.
Act as the voice of the developer internally, and the voice of the product externally.
What We’re Looking For
3+ years in developer content, technical writing, developer marketing, product marketing, or a closely related role, ideally at a company selling to developers.
A technical or highly technical background. Prior experience as a developer, solutions engineer, technical writer, developer advocate, or similar is strongly preferred. You should be able to read code and hold your own in a technical conversation.
Exceptional writing skills. You can turn complex technical concepts into clear, compelling, jargon-free content — and you genuinely enjoy the craft of writing.
A strong sense of UX and content design: you think about how information is structured and consumed, not just what it says.
Native or near-native English fluency and excellent verbal communication skills.
A proactive, self-directed attitude. You spot opportunities, propose solutions, and move projects forward without needing detailed direction.
Comfort working independently with minimal supervision, while staying aligned with team goals and priorities.
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, especially with engineering and product teams.
Must be willing to work US hours with 6 hours overlap.
Nice to Have
Experience marketing APIs, developer tools, or infrastructure products.
A portfolio or writing samples that demonstrate technical storytelling (blog posts, docs, launch pages, etc.).
Familiarity with API documentation tools, developer portals, or SDKs.
Experience running developer community programs, hackathons, or technical events.
Why Join Us
Fully remote team with flexible working hours.
Meaningful ownership over how developers experience our product, from first impression to advocacy.
A collaborative culture that values craft, curiosity, and clear thinking.
Competitive compensation and benefits package.
How to Apply
Send us your resume along with a short note on why this role interests you. If you have writing samples, such as blog posts, documentation, tutorials, launch content, or anything else that shows how you think and write, please include links. Code samples or GitHub projects are also welcome. We’re especially interested in seeing how you explain technical concepts in plain language.
