Finance Manager, Sales Compensation at Tines

Leads sales compensation strategy and operations, managing payroll cycles, incentive plans, and quota design for a 350-person go-to-market team while transitioning pricing models.

Lead Posted about 16 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Founded in 2018 with co-headquarters in Dublin and Boston, Tines powers some of the world’s most important workflows. Our intelligent workflow platform applies AI, automation, and integration with human ingenuity to drive real business results.

Tines serves a diverse range of customers, from startups to public companies, including Canva, Databricks, Elastic, Kayak, Intercom, and McKesson. As an integrator across the entire tech stack, Tines is vendor-agnostic integrating with any API-enabled service. This flexibility enables our customers to achieve their highest-priority goals faster. And because Tines is secure and private by design, it’s popular with security, IT, engineering, finance, and other security-focused teams.

At Tines, we’re driven by our values of Simplicity, Speed, and Soundness. We’re committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences while fostering a company culture that nurtures individual curiosity, growth, and integrity. We’re excited about what’s next, and we’re looking for others to join us on our journey.

We’re looking for a sales compensation leader to own how we pay our go-to-market organisation, and how that changes as our commercial model changes. You will run the engine that pays roughly 350 GTM people accurately and on time, own the design of the plans, quotas and incentives behind it, and lead a small team of analysts.

The timing is the interesting part. Tines is moving from subscription and seat-based pricing to a consumption model, which means designing and running two comp worlds in parallel while we transition. At the same time we are rebuilding the quote-to-cash stack on Salesforce Revenue Cloud Advanced, which resets crediting and the data that feeds it. You will be central to both.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You will manage and coach a small team, and you will also be in the model, in CaptivateIQ, and in the plan documents yourself.

What you’ll do:

Run the compensation engine

  • Own the monthly and quarterly compensation cycle end to end: crediting, calculation, review, approval and payout, delivered accurately and on time
  • Own CaptivateIQ as our system of record for incentive compensation, including plan build, rule logic, testing and release
  • Own crediting and comp data integrity across Salesforce and downstream systems, and work with Systems and Deal Desk to fix problems at source rather than in spreadsheets
  • Oversee inquiry management ensuring clear SLAs and report on trends to improve overall processes
  • Document and keep policies and process up to date for stakeholders and your team

Design the plans, quotas and incentives

  • Own annual plan design in partnership with your Senior compensation analyst, GTM leadership, FP&A and People for all commissioned roles
  • Collaborate with Revops business partners on the quota setting process for each function to ensure it aligns with broader compensation strategy and benchmarks
  • Model attainment distribution, benchmarks and support finance in ad-hoc cost reporting
  • Own and build SPIFFs and non-cash incentive programmes, including President’s Club,
  • Own plan communication and enablement, so reps and managers understand what they are paid for and can self-serve where needed

Evolve the compensation strategy as we grow

  • Build the compensation approach for an evolving pricing model and mulit-product business in partnership with the Head of Revenue Operations and VP of Finance
  • Represent compensation requirements during larger CPQ and CRM enhancements or changes
  • Enhance our approach based compensation reporting: attainment by role and segment, payout curves, quota coverage and programme effectiveness

Lead and grow the team

  • Manage, coach and develop a small team of compensation analysts, and set the standard and what good looks like
  • Prioritise the team’s work, capacity and quarterly OKRs to ensure a balance of reactiveness and impactful projects
  • Stay hands-on. This is a doing and leading role, not a management-only role

What you’ll bring with you:

Required experience

  • 6+ years in sales compensation, revenue operations, sales finance or a closely related field, with experience managing or formally mentoring analysts
  • 2-3 years direct management experience
  • Proven ownership of a full incentive compensation cycle for a distributed GTM team, including crediting, calculation, payout and dispute resolution
  • Hands-on administration of an ICM platform, ideally CaptivateIQ, including building and testing plan logic yourself
  • Demonstrated plan design experience: pay mix, leverage, accelerators and quota setting, with the modelling to back the recommendation
  • Strong Salesforce data fluency, and the ability to translate commercial requirements into system and crediting logic
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets modelling, including capacity, attainment and cost of sale models
  • Excellent stakeholder management, with the credibility to hold a position with Sales leaders and the judgement to know when to flex
  • You can communicate simply, clearly, and directly, especially with senior leaders, and your written work is polished enough to go straight to an executive audience

Bonus points

  • Experience with consumption, usage-based or hybrid pricing models and their compensation implications
  • Experience through a CPQ or quote-to-cash migration, ideally Salesforce CPQ or Dealhub
  • Experience in cybersecurity, IT or AI markets
  • Familiarity with ASC 606 commission capitalisation and audit requirements
  • Experience compensating post-sales and partner roles, not just AEs]

Finance Finance Analyst at Flex

Analyzes ROI of growth investments and works with go-to-market teams on deal structure, pricing, and budget planning for an AI-native banking platform.

Junior Remote Posted about 16 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Flex is building the AI-native private bank for business owners.

We’re re-architecting the entire financial system for entrepreneurs—from the first dollar a business earns to how that value compounds, moves, and is ultimately spent in real life. Banking, credit, payments, personal finance, and financial operations—rebuilt from the ground up as a single, intelligent system. Flex is the full financial home for ambitious owners.

Since launching publicly in September 2023, Flex has scaled from zero to nine-figure annualized revenue, with a clear path to profitability by late 2026. We move fast, ship relentlessly, and operate with extreme ownership.

Our customers are affluent business owners ($3–$200M in revenue)—the backbone of the economy and one of the most underserved segments in finance. They’re stuck with outdated banks and fragmented tools. We’re replacing all of it. The opportunity is massive: a ~$1T+ revenue market hiding in plain sight. Our ambition is to build a $100B+ company by delivering a product that is fundamentally better—not incrementally improved.

Flex has raised $100M+ in equity and $300M+ in debt.

- Mission-critical problems: We build software that directly controls how money moves at scale.

- High bar, low ego: Small teams, exceptional people, real ownership.

- Speed over comfort: We prioritize execution, quality, clarity, and results.

- Enduring impact: What we’re building will define how a generation of owners runs their businesses.

Team & Locations

We hire exceptional people who want to build hard things and see their work matter immediately. Roles are available in: San Francisco, Miami, New York, and fully remote.

Flex Fuels Ambition.

About Us

This is a ground-floor seat on a small finance team, and it’s a genuinely embedded one. Most of your week will be spent with our go-to-market org — reporting on what our growth spend is actually returning, and acting as the finance counterpart on deal structure and pricing. The rest goes to the budget cycle, where you’ll sit with department leads to build and defend their plans.

We’re hiring for judgment and speed, not years served. If you’re two years out of a banking analyst program, or a strong new grad who models well and writes clearly, you’re the profile. You’ll report to our Director of FP&A and get real exposure to the exec team.

What You’ll Do

Be the finance partner to go-to-market

  • Own reporting on the ROI of our growth investments — by channel, campaign, and segment — so the team knows what’s working and what to cut

  • Run Deal Desk: serve as the finance liaison on pricing, deal structure, and non-standard terms, and be the person go-to-market pulls in before a deal gets committed

  • Build and maintain the customer and growth economics that inform how we invest in acquisition

  • Sit in go-to-market’s meetings, not just their inbox — translate their questions into analysis and hand back a recommendation instead of a spreadsheet

Run the budget cycle with the teams

  • Partner with department leads through quarterly budget and headcount planning — collect inputs, pressure-test them, and translate them into the plan

  • Track spend against budget, surface drift before it compounds, and flag what needs a decision

  • Build the analysis behind headcount, vendor, and resourcing calls — payback, cost-to-serve, build-vs-buy

Support forecasting and reporting

  • Support the monthly forecast cycle: pull and reconcile actuals, build the variance analysis, and draft the commentary that explains what moved and why

  • Maintain the schedules and drivers that feed the company operating model, working alongside the Director of FP&A

  • Help assemble the monthly and quarterly reporting packages for leadership, the board, and lenders

Automate anything you do twice

  • Replace recurring manual work with something durable — AI workflows, queries, dashboards, templates — so next month it takes minutes

  • Bring rigor to automated output: reconcile it, stress it, and know where it breaks before someone else finds out

Requirements

  • 0–2 years in FP&A, strategic finance, investment banking, consulting, Big 4, or a comparably analytical role — exceptional new grads welcome

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, engineering, mathematics, or another quantitative field

  • You build financial models from a blank sheet. Advanced Excel or Google Sheets is table stakes here, not a bullet point

  • Hands-on exposure to a real budgeting or forecasting cycle

  • AI is already the default in how you work, and you have the judgment to go with it: a reliable instinct for when a machine-generated answer is wrong, and the discipline to check before you forward it

  • You write clearly. You can compress a 40-tab model into three sentences a founder can act on

  • Extreme attention to detail, and comfort operating in ambiguity at speed — priorities here change faster than the plan does

  • Based in the US

Nice to Haves

  • SQL — you can pull your own data instead of filing a ticket

  • Python, or comparable scripting for analysis and automation

  • BI and analytics tooling (Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Hex) and modern planning tools (Pigment, Cube, Aleph, NetSuite)

  • Fintech, banking, or lending background

$80,000 - $100,000 a year

$80,000 – $100,000 base, plus full benefits. Title and compensation are commensurate with experience, performance in the interview, and location.

Team & Locations

Finance Assistant Controller - Remote at BaubleBar Inc.

Leads accounting operations including AP, revenue recognition, AR, and general ledger management while supervising accounting team members and driving process improvements.

Lead Remote Posted about 16 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

WHO WE ARE:

BaubleBar designs accessories that make life more fun. Founded in 2010, the company is known for its statement-making styles that create joy and bring people together. Today, BaubleBar’s unabashedly optimistic perspective can be found across multiple accessory categories sold direct-to-consumer and in over 8,500 retail stores globally.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

We’re seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to serve as the operational backbone of the accounting close and transactional world for the Company.  This role owns the full transactional accounting cycle – accounts payable and travel & expense, revenue accounting, and accounts receivable – while also directly maintaining the general ledger accounts that fall outside the functional teams, including fixed assets, prepaids, cash and other corporate balance sheet accounts.  This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical accounting knowledge, general ledger ownership, people management skills and deep familiarity with e-commerce revenue, payment and collections processes.

WHAT WE WANT YOU TO DO:

Team Leadership & Oversight

  • Directly manage and develop the Accounting Supervisor, Revenue Accountant and Part-Time AR Manager
  • Serve as the escalation point for judgment calls, exceptions and unusual transactions
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews and career development planning for direct reports
  • Identify process improvement and automation opportunities across all owned functions

AP & Travel and Expense (via Accounting Supervisor)

  • Review and approve the AP aging and cash disbursement forecast
  • Oversee the Accounting Supervisor’s management of vendor master data controls, invoice-PO match exception resolution, and T&E policy compliance
  • Review matters requiring elevated technical judgment: complex accrual estimates, vendor disputes, and contract interpretation

Revenue Accounting

  • Review monthly revenue-to-cash reconciliations across all sales channels (e.g. Shopify, Amazon, wholesale, etc.)
  • Oversee revenue recognition policy application, including treatment of chargebacks, returns/refund reserves, and payment processor fees
  • Review and approve judgmental reserve estimates

Accounts Receivable (via AR Manager)

  • Own the AR reserve in partnership with the AR Manager
  • Oversee the AR Manager’s direction of collections aging, customer credit memos and deduction management (particularly wholesale chargebacks and allowances)
  • Ensure cash application accuracy and timely resolution of unapplied cash through the AR Manager and AR Specialist

Close Process & Controls

  • Own the close calendar and checklist across all managed functions and direct GL accounts; ensure deadlines are met
  • Prepare and/or review balance sheet reconcilations for all accounts – prior to Controller sign-off
  • Prepare and review manual and non-system journal entries for accuracy and appropriate support
  • Support internal control design, documentation and testing

General Ledger & Corporate Accounting

  • Directly prepare and/or review monthly cash reconciliations for all operating, payroll and merchant/payment processor bank accounts
  • Own the fixed asset sub-ledger: capitalization policy application, monthly depreciation, disposals, internal software capitalizations
  • Maintain prepaid expense and accrued liability schedules not owned by AP/T&E, Revenue or AR
  • Record and reconcile debt instruments, as applicable
  • Record and account for investments and related interest
  • Prepare and/or review lease (ASC 842) and other corporate schedules as applicable
  • Service as secondary technical reviewer alongside the Controller for non-routine GL entries and account classifications outside the transactional functions above

WHAT WE WANT TO SEE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management capacity
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Experience with multi-channel e-commerce accounting strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite strongly preferred) and advanced Excel skills
  • Demonstrated experience managing a monthly close process and reconciliation cadence
  • Demonstrated success automating accounting processes and reducing close cycle time (e.g. saved searches, workflows, system integrations)
  • Experience with AP/T&E automation platforms and CRM/AR tools
  • Systems- and process-oriented, with a constant eye on automating and simplifying manual processes rather than managing around them
  • Comfortable operating with a high degree of ownership and accountability during time-sensitive close cycles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document accounting conclusions and communicate effectively with non-accountants
  • Position will be remote (residing anywhere in the United States and authorized to work in the U.S.) Standard working hours to coincide with 9:00am-6:00pm EST

WHAT WE OFFER:

  • Starting salary range for this role is $155,000 - $170,000. Starting offer within that range will factor in work location, skills, background and years of relevant experience
  • Generous benefit package including: Outstanding company contribution towards employee premiums for Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance, PTO, 10 paid Company Holidays, Company paid Life Insurance & more!
  • Be part of a lean, highly effective, collaborative team where your impact is easy to see. Your work will directly shape our financials and decisions
  • Company laptop, free monthly product allowance, and employee discounts
