Engineer Zowie: DevOps Engineer

DevOps/Platform Engineer builds and maintains scalable infrastructure, multi-cloud environments, and developer platforms supporting AI agent customer interactions at enterprise scale.

Mid Remote Posted 1 day ago We Work Remotely — Programming
What this role involves

Headquarters: Remote Poland

About Zowie:At Zowie, we’re revolutionizing how businesses interact with their customers. We’re creating a future where AI Agents handle 100% of customer interactions - delivering instant, personalized, and exceptional experiences.
We believe AI Agents represent the next major technological shift, and Zowie is positioned to lead the charge. Leading consumer brands like Costco, DocMorris, Monos, Decathlon, InPost already trust our AI Agents to be on the front line of their customer care efforts, handling millions of conversations monthly.
About the role:As Zowie grows and brings larger enterprise customers onto our AI platform, we’re facing challenges that sit at the intersection of infrastructure, application architecture, developer experience, and enterprise clients’ requirements. These problems are rarely well-defined upfront, there’s never a single way to solve them and they can’t be solved by tooling alone.
This is why we’re looking for an energetic DevOps/Platform Engineer, who enjoys building usable and reliable platform capabilities — from first understanding why the problem exists, through design and implementation, to long-term ownership in production.
Several factors shape the nature of platform work here...

What makes platform challenges interesting at Zowie:

    • Enterprise readiness – secure access patterns, auditability, and compliance are becoming first-class requirements.
    • Multi-cloud reality – AWS is our primary environment today, with GCP playing a growing role.
    • Mission-critical workloads – our platform sits on the frontline of our customers’ businesses, so reliability, clarity, and operational ownership matter.
    • Developer enablement at scale – as the organization grows, platform decisions increasingly affect developers velocity, and our mission is to enable them for success.
    • Technological variety - to support the Product team's needs, our infrastructure consists of many technologies, like MongoDB, Postgres, ElasticSearch, Cassandra and Redis.
    • Voice Technologies - as our AI Agent supports phone calls, you’ll have a chance to work with reliable and scalable SIP infrastructure.

This role might be for you, if you:

    • Want to have real influence on how an entire platform evolves
    • Enjoy owning initiatives end-to-end, not just implementing predefined tasks
    • Are curious to understand your stakeholders, then design pragmatic solutions that account for the impact of your decisions
    • Like working at the boundary between infrastructure, application architecture, and developer experience

What you'll do:

    • Work with AWS and GCP infrastructure (IaC, networking, compute, IAM, secrets), secure access and authorization mechanisms (DB auth, IAM flows, audit).
    • Communicate with various stakeholders to understand different infrastructure-related challenges, provide solution plans and ensure success of the initiatives you own.
    • Collaborate closely with developers to understand their workflows, pain points, and constraints; ensure platform decisions improve developer experience.

Ideally, you'll bring with you:

    • 2+ years in DevOps / SRE / Platform Engineering roles
    • Experience with GCP or AWS (IAM, networking, compute, storage, common managed services)
    • Experience with Infrastructure as Code in a multi-datacenter/multi-cloud deployment setup
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a pragmatic can-do attitude
    • High degree of ownership and desire to drive projects from start to finish
    • Good familiarity with CI/CD processes and approaches

It will be awesome if you also have:

    • Experience with visualization tools like Kibana, Grafana, Prometheus
    • Experience with storage tech like MongoDB, Postgres, Cassandra, Redis, Elasticsearch
    • Experience managing AWS costs, running backup recovery operations
    • Experience with SaaS/enterprise customers (security reviews, compliance expectations)
AI-native culture:Our team embraces AI as a fundamental part of how we work - not just for speed, but for creativity, documentation, and scale. We’re looking for people who are excited to develop within this space and contribute to such culture by bringing ideas to the table, and continuously evolving their approach to leverage emerging tools.

Engineer Platform Engineer (remote work) at CloudLinux

Manages cloud infrastructure, observability platforms, CI/CD systems, and automates operational workflows while maintaining service reliability and incident response.

Mid Remote Posted 1 day ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

CloudLinux builds Linux infrastructure and security products. You will join our Automation & Management Services cell, working closely with Dmitrii Petrov to solve problems across teams and services: cloud-cost data, infrastructure inventory, network policies and capacity workflows.

Check out our website for more information https://cloudlinux.com/

Inside the Infrastructure Department, the Platform cell is a small team. We run the observability platform, the company’s GitLab and the CI runners behind it, a few smaller engineering services, and the automation the department relies on for provisioning and configuration.

We are looking for a Platform Engineer for the PaaS team to take ownership of an agreed set of platform services: keep them reliable and within agreed service levels, make changes and recovery repeatable, and reduce recurring operational work through automation and self-service.

You get real freedom in how you implement things, and you own the result: you pick the approach, defend it in review, and answer for how the service behaves afterwards.

Most of the job is what site reliability engineering is about: services that run well day after day, and requests from product teams handled properly. Some of it is building. The observability platform and the runner cluster were both built from scratch within the last year, and there will be more of that. Expect the work to split between platform engineering, incident response, and helping engineers in other teams use what we run.

What you’ll do

  • Run the observability platform. Keep it healthy, onboard teams, watch cost and capacity, and maintain the alerting that runs on top of it.
  • Run GitLab and the CI runner fleet. Upgrades, capacity, access, backups and restore drills.
  • Keep the rest of our services healthy, with the monitoring and runbooks a production service needs.
  • Deploy new services when they are requested. Research the options, pick a design, and stand the service up from scratch according to good practice: as code, monitored, backed up, documented.
  • Work with developers’ requests. Access, onboarding, pipeline problems, new exporters and dashboards. Answer them, and turn the recurring ones into self-service.
  • Run incidents. Diagnose and mitigate impact, restore service safely, then complete the root-cause analysis and post-mortem. Deliver the prevention or detection improvements the incident calls for.
  • Ship everything as code, reviewed in merge requests. Plan and check before every change.
  • Write for engineers outside the team. Runbooks, onboarding guides, maintenance notices and status updates that people can act on.
  • Work with AI agents. Delegate collection and drafting to them, review their output as you would a colleague’s merge request, and record what you learn where the team can find it.

Must have

  • Senior-level experience in infrastructure, platform or site reliability engineering, including at least one production service you were responsible for keeping up. We will ask you to walk us through it in detail: what broke, how you found out, and what you changed so it would not happen again.
  • Linux systems administration and debugging on bare metal and virtual machines. Much of our infrastructure is not Kubernetes.
  • Kubernetes in production delivered through GitOps, including cluster upgrades you performed yourself.
  • Infrastructure as code as your delivery form: Ansible and Terraform or OpenTofu, changes reviewed in merge requests.
  • GitLab administration and GitLab CI in production, self-hosted or SaaS. Deep experience with another CI system is acceptable if you can show the same depth.
  • Working knowledge of the Prometheus and Grafana ecosystem: you have run it for a team, written alert rules and dashboards, and can read PromQL. Depth here is welcome, and learnable.
  • Written technical explanation for engineers outside your team: runbooks, notices, answers to requests.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. This role deals with people at least as much as with servers: most work starts as a conversation with a product team, and you need to understand what they actually need, agree scope, priority and timing with them, push back politely when a request should not be done as asked, and keep everyone informed while the work is in progress. We are looking for someone other teams enjoy working with.
  • Advanced use of AI engineering assistants such as Claude and Codex: providing context, breaking down tasks, designing agent loops, and delegating plans for unattended, end-to-end execution within defined scope and permissions, with clear stop conditions. You can explain, debug and test the resulting automation, and verify generated commands, scripts and conclusions before they touch production.
  • English - upper-intermediate or higher - to ensure clear communication of progress within the teams.

Nice to have

  • Alerting design: SLOs, burn-rate alerts, thresholds sized from data.
  • MicroVM isolation for CI: Kata Containers, Firecracker or gVisor.
  • S3-compatible object storage operations: Ceph RGW or similar.
  • AWS with real cost work.
  • Self-hosted Sentry, or another Kafka, ClickHouse and Redis-backed application you have kept alive under load.
  • Python or Go for exporters and small internal services.

You do not need to have run every system on this list. Solid fundamentals and the judgment to pick up an unfamiliar service, make it observable and hand back a runbook matter more than matching every line.

What this role is not focused on

  • Not a ticket-queue operator. Recurring requests get turned into self-service, not processed one by one forever.
  • Not a pure cloud or Kubernetes role. Bare metal and virtual machines are a large part of our infrastructure.
  • Not the DBA, the network engineer or the security engineer. Those teams run their own systems; we provide the platform they monitor them with.

What’s in it for you?

  • A focus on professional development.
  • Interesting and challenging projects.
  • Fully remote work with flexible working hours, which allows you to schedule your day and work from any location worldwide.
  • Paid 24 days of vacation per year, 10 days of national holidays, and unlimited sick leaves.
  • Compensation for private medical insurance.
  • Co-working and gym/sports reimbursement.
  • Budget for education.
  • The opportunity to receive a reward for the most innovative idea that the company can patent.

By applying for this position, you consent to the processing of your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy (https://cloudlinux.com/candidate-privacy-notice), which provides detailed information on how we maintain and handle your data.

Engineer Automation & Performance Engineer | 12 weeks+ (575) at Ubiminds: You, International.

Engineer builds and maintains automated test suites, designs performance and load tests for AI-driven platforms, and reports bottlenecks with clear evidence.

Mid Remote Posted 1 day ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

About the opportunity

A full-time engineer covering two complementary needs across both apps: test automation on Nehemiah Layer and performance/load testing on CALL-IT. On the control plane you help automate the adversarial and functional suites into repeatable CI runs; on the real-money platform you design load tests for the high-traffic paths. The through-line is engineering rigor applied to making tests fast, repeatable, and meaningful.

About our client Our client is preparing two AI-driven platforms for enterprise readiness, with a focus on security, correctness, and financial integrity ahead of a production launch.

What you’ll do

  • Build and maintain automated test suites for the Nehemiah decision path, integrated with the freeze-audit CI gate.

  • Design and run performance and load tests for Nehemiah intercept latency and throughput — the layer cannot become a bottleneck.

  • Design and run load tests for CALL-IT high-traffic paths (as a later pass in that workstream).

  • Build test harnesses and data generators that respect each platform’s gated identity and account rules.

  • Report performance findings and bottlenecks with clear evidence and reproduction steps.

What you bring (must-haves)

  • Strong test-automation experience (Python preferred for the Nehemiah side; JS/TS useful for CALL-IT).

  • Hands-on performance / load testing (k6, Locust, JMeter, Gatling, or similar) with sound methodology.

  • CI/CD fluency (GitHub Actions or equivalent) and Docker.

  • Ability to reason about latency and throughput in a service that sits in the request path.

  • Clear written English and evidence-based reporting.

Bonus points for (nice-to-haves)

  • Experience load-testing payment or transactional systems.

  • Familiarity with Render, Vercel, and Supabase.

  • Observability / profiling background.

Perks & benefits

  • đŸ’» Equipment provided — none of that “bring your own device” stuff here

Engineer Software Engineer II, - Ads at Instacart

Build and ship features across Instacart's publisher-facing ads platform, writing production code and owning services end-to-end.

Mid Hybrid Posted 1 day ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

We’re transforming the grocery industry

At Instacart, we invite the world to share love through food because we believe everyone should have access to the food they love and more time to enjoy it together. Where others see a simple need for grocery delivery, we see exciting complexity and endless opportunity to serve the varied needs of our community. We work to deliver an essential service that customers rely on to get their groceries and household goods, while also offering safe and flexible earnings opportunities to Instacart Personal Shoppers.

Instacart has become a lifeline for millions of people, and we’re building the team to help push our shopping cart forward. If you’re ready to do the best work of your life, come join our table.

Instacart is a Flex First team

There’s no one-size fits all approach to how we do our best work. Our employees have the flexibility to choose where they do their best work—whether it’s from home, an office, or your favorite coffee shop—while staying connected and building community through regular in-person events. Learn more about our flexible approach to where we work.

Overview

Carrot Ads is Instacart’s publisher advertising platform and one of its fastest-growing businesses. We power ads for enterprise retail partners like Uber Eats, Hy-Vee, and Thrive Market on their own storefronts, spanning Storefront, Storefront Pro, and the Connect / Carrot Ads API. As the first vertical team inside a historically horizontal Ads org, our scope is unusually broad: we own the publisher customer end to end while building on top of shared serving, measurement, and quality systems.

Retail media is consolidating, and Instacart is positioned to win on cross-retailer reach. Our goal is to become the premier grocery ads ecosystem for partners and advertisers — and getting there means turning an early externalization into an enterprise-grade platform that the world’s most sophisticated retailers trust with their own storefronts. That is the problem you will help solve.

As a Software Engineer II on Carrot Ads, you will independently build and ship features across the publisher-facing stack: the Connect / Carrot Ads API, publisher serving inputs, reporting, and the tooling partners use to run their ad businesses. You will write efficient, observable, well-tested code, own what you ship through production and on-call, and work as an away team into shared systems when a feature needs changes there. This is a high-visibility role inside one of Instacart’s top growth areas, with real opportunity to own meaningful surfaces early in your career here.

About the Job

  • Build and ship publisher-facing features end to end across Storefront, Storefront Pro, and API partners — including API endpoints, serving inputs, reporting views, and configuration tooling that partners depend on daily.
  • Extend the Connect / Carrot Ads API with clear contracts, robust event handling and dead-letter recovery, integration tests, and self-serve documentation that makes partner onboarding faster and more reliable.
  • Build the retailer control surface: relevance and quality-score inputs, reserve pricing, ad-load controls, and the trade-off signals retailers use to tune performance on their own sites.
  • Strengthen reporting and data integrity across partner systems — including attribution, catalog and product-ID mapping, reconciliation, and automated health checks that keep partner data trustworthy.
  • Raise reliability by helping define and meet partner SLAs, improving observability, reducing incident frequency and time to recovery, and contributing to a unified partner-health monitoring layer.
  • Debug partner-facing serving and reporting issues, tracing root causes across shared serving, measurement, and quality systems.
  • Collaborate across Product, Enterprise Solutions, and the horizontal Ads teams — including Serving, Measurement, Ads Quality, and Ads Manager — to land work that spans multiple stacks.
  • Use AI-assisted developer tools to move faster without lowering the bar on quality or security.

About You

You work well in ambiguity, like owning features end to end, and want the surface area of a fast-growing business alongside the depth of hard systems problems.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience building and operating production backend services.
  • Strong API design and distributed-systems fundamentals, with fluency in a backend language such as Go, Ruby, or Python.
  • Demonstrated track record of shipping features end to end with solid testing, observability, and operational ownership.
  • Experience debugging across service boundaries and collaborating across cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in ad tech, retail media, or other publisher- or partner-facing platforms.
  • Familiarity with event streaming and reliability patterns at scale (e.g., Kafka, dead-letter queues, idempotent processing).
  • Cloud infrastructure experience with AWS or GCP, including data or measurement-adjacent systems.
  • Experience with data reconciliation, attribution, or catalog and entity mapping.
  • Experience building partner- or customer-facing APIs, including documentation, error contracts, and integration test coverage.

Engineer Platform Engineer (remote work) at CloudLinux

Manages cloud infrastructure, observability platforms, and CI/CD systems while ensuring reliability, incident response, and automation across company services.
