Job Summary
The Regional Manager – Workers’ Compensation Underwriting is responsible for driving profitable growth, underwriting performance, territory execution, and agency development within an assigned region. This leadership role oversees Workers’ Compensation underwriting operations, portfolio management, broker and agency relationships, and underwriting team development while supporting the organization’s broader strategic and operational goals.
The Regional Manager will lead a regional underwriting team focused on disciplined risk selection, pricing adequacy, retention, and market expansion across new and renewal Workers’ Compensation business. This role serves as both a technical underwriting leader and market-facing business partner, collaborating closely with executive leadership, distribution, claims, actuarial, product, and operations teams.
The position requires deep Workers’ Compensation underwriting expertise, strong leadership capability, and the ability to scale profitable business through strategic territory management and agency engagement.
Position Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
7+ years of Workers’ Compensation underwriting experience with demonstrated expertise in underwriting strategy, portfolio management, pricing, and agency development.
Prior leadership experience managing underwriting teams, territories, or regional operations within Workers’ Compensation.
Strong technical knowledge of:
Proven track record of building and managing profitable Workers’ Compensation books of business.
Strong broker, agency, and distribution relationship management skills.
Demonstrated ability to analyze underwriting, actuarial, claims, and operational data to support strategic decision-making.
Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and team development skills.
Ability to operate in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment with strong collaboration across business units.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
Ability to travel up to 30% within the assigned region and to corporate offices as needed.

The starting annual pay scale for this position is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on factors such as skills, qualifications, training, and experience. In addition, the company offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) plan with match, paid time off, and other benefits.
ISC’s salary ranges are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
National Pay Range
$100,000—$140,000 USD
